Job Description

An established food manufacturing facility is in search of a Plant Manager to join their team and contribute to their advancement. In this role, you'll offer robust hands-on leadership and guidance to all department managers.

 

The Plant Manager holds accountability for the overall profitability of the facility. They will supervise the day-to-day operations of the organization, manage its resources, formulate and execute an operational strategy, and ensure the proper execution of procedures.

Who You Are and What You'll Do:

 

  • Take a proactive, hands-on approach to managing plant operations across all areas of responsibility, including safety, health, environment (EHS), SQF, food safety programs, administration, production, quality, maintenance, and warehousing.
  • Support SQF and other food safety programs. Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the SQF system.
  • Drive plant-wide objectives by establishing production performance benchmarks and guiding the leadership team to meet these targets.

  • Oversee assessments and forecasts of operational goals.
  • Ensure timely and precise communication of information to the finance department to guarantee accurate costing.
  • Develop, oversee, and optimize budgets and planning processes to align with the plant's objectives.
  • Foster a team-oriented environment centered around performance management, utilizing exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all plant personnel.
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication, conflict resolution, decision-making, motivational, and organizational skills.

 

What You'll Need to Succeed:

 

Experience:

 

  • Essential requirement: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Food Manufacturing Plant Management.
  • Proficient in operating all equipment essential for manufacturing operations.
  • Engineering and Technical Maintenance Leadership Preferred.
  • Must possess strong motivation, excellent communication abilities, and effective leadership skills.
  • Proven track record of constructing and empowering high-performing teams, consistently achieving outstanding results.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.), preferably in Food Science, Engineering, or Management.
  • GMP, FSMA, Food Defense Awareness and Allergen Training.
