Project Manager – Industrial / Manufacturing / Large-Scale Commercial Project Management Opportunity – Chicago, IL

A well-established family-owned commercial construction organization with more than 50 years of experience is looking to add an experienced Project Manager to its Chicago-area team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Develop and maintain project schedules
• Manage budgets and financial performance
• Oversee subcontractor buyout and contract administration
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications
• Coordinate architects, engineers, owners, vendors, and trade partners
• Lead project meetings
• Monitor quality and schedule performance
• Identify and resolve project issues
• Maintain strong client relationships
• Work closely with field operations and superintendent teams

Ideal Background

The strongest candidates will have:

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience
• Proven Project Management experience
• Industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, or big-box experience
• Experience managing projects from preconstruction through completion
• Strong financial/project controls knowledge
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Experience with Procore or similar construction technology is a plus

Compensation

$125,000–$160,000+ base salary

Candidates with significant experience managing $50M+ industrial, manufacturing, distribution, or complex commercial projects may command compensation toward the upper end of the range.

Current 2026 Chicago market data shows construction PM compensation around $115K–$123K at the broader market level, with specialized industrial/commercial experience supporting higher compensation ranges. Salary
