A respected commercial flooring contractor is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to support flooring projects from award through completion. This individual will work closely with project managers, estimators, clients, vendors, installers, and field teams to keep projects organized, properly documented, and on schedule.
The ideal candidate has at least five years of relevant flooring or construction experience, excellent organizational skills, and a strong understanding of commercial project workflows.
Coordinate commercial flooring projects from cradle to grave.
Maintain project schedules, budgets, purchase orders, contracts, submittals, and other project documentation.
Review project plans, specifications, scopes of work, and material requirements.
Coordinate material orders, deliveries, lead times, and jobsite logistics with vendors and project teams.
Communicate project updates to clients, general contractors, vendors, installers, and internal stakeholders.
Assist with preparing and tracking RFIs, submittals, change orders, closeout documents, and punch-list items.
Confirm that materials, labor, equipment, and site conditions are ready before installation begins.
Monitor project deadlines and proactively identify scheduling, material, or documentation issues.
Coordinate installation crews and maintain clear communication with field personnel.
Track project costs and assist project managers with maintaining budgets and profitability.
Maintain accurate project files, correspondence, reports, and status updates.
Support project managers in resolving field issues and delivering an excellent customer experience.
Help ensure projects comply with company standards, contract requirements, and safety expectations.
At least 3 years of relevant flooring, construction, or project coordination experience.
Commercial flooring experience is strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of carpet, carpet tile, LVT, VCT, sheet vinyl, rubber flooring, ceramic tile, hardwood, moisture mitigation, and related flooring systems.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and scopes of work.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
Ability to coordinate effectively with clients, vendors, general contractors, installers, and internal teams.
Comfortable working with project-management, estimating, scheduling, and document-control software.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Ability to anticipate potential issues and follow through until they are resolved.
Experience working for a commercial flooring contractor or subcontractor.
Familiarity with flooring-industry software such as RFMS, MeasureSquare, or similar platforms.
Knowledge of material procurement, installation sequencing, submittals, change orders, and project closeout.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, architecture, or a related field.
Consistently follows through on commitments and deadlines.
Communicates clearly and professionally with both office and field teams.
Remains organized while handling multiple active projects.
Identifies potential problems before they affect schedules or budgets.
Takes ownership of project details without losing sight of the overall objective.
Maintains a customer-focused attitude from project award through completion.
