We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and manage heavy civil and highway construction projects, including roadway, infrastructure, and large-scale sitework packages. This role is responsible for overseeing projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring safety, schedule, quality, and financial objectives are achieved.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in DOT and public works projects and is comfortable managing complex field operations, subcontractors, and project financials.
Manage heavy civil projects from award through completion
Oversee project schedules, budgets, and cost controls
Handle project billing, pay applications, and financial tracking
Manage change orders, RFIs, and contract documentation
Coordinate with owners, DOT agencies, engineers, and inspectors
Lead project meetings and serve as primary point of contact
Manage subcontractors and suppliers
Track material procurement and jobsite logistics
Ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications
Support project closeout, punch list, and final documentation
5+ years of experience managing heavy civil / highway construction projects
Strong background in roadway, infrastructure, and sitework
DOT project experience strongly preferred
Experience with public works and government contracts
Strong understanding of project scheduling and cost management
Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office and project management software
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Experience with state DOT, municipal, or federal infrastructure projects
Familiarity with CPM scheduling and project controls systems
