Grain Operations Manager in Columbia

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Grain Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day grain elevator operations across five locations in Western Missouri. This role is heavily operations-focused and will be responsible for grain movement, storage management, quality control, maintenance, and repairs. One facility is rail-served, with the remaining locations regularly feeding into it.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who understands grain from receiving to shipping and takes pride in safe, efficient, and well-maintained operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee grain receiving, storage, transfer, and outbound shipping activities
  • Track grain inventory, movements in/out, and condition of stored grain
  • Manage grain quality, blending, and storage strategies to preserve value
  • Supervise and perform maintenance and repair work (including millwright-type tasks)
  • Coordinate and oversee container loading operations
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards
  • Support coordination between locations, particularly movements to the rail facility
  • Lead and support operational staff as needed across locations

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of grain industry experience required
  • Strong background in grain storage management, blending, and quality control
  • Working knowledge of elevator maintenance, mechanical systems, and repairs
  • Experience with container loading preferred
  • Practical, hands-on operations mindset with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage operations across multiple locations

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary: $100,000–$120,000, based on experience
  • Health insurance (approximately 75% employer-paid)
