Tax Manager

Location: Long Beach, CA

Overview

A national CPA and consulting firm specializing in real estate is seeking a Tax Manager for its Long Beach, California office. The manager assumes primary responsibility for client engagements, mentors seniors and staff, and strengthens client relationships. Flexible, remote and hybrid arrangements are available.

Responsibilities

• Assume primary responsibility for client engagements, including planning, staffing, timing and technical issues
• Conduct thorough engagement reviews
• Supervise and mentor supervisors, seniors and staff
• Complete performance evaluations and manage employee performance conversations
• Assist with identifying and pursuing new clients
• Turn technical knowledge into high value-added client opportunities
• Develop and grow client relationships
• Manage time and staff time efficiently to support profitability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting or finance (advanced degree a plus)
• CPA license or progress toward CPA
• Several years of public accounting tax experience
• Affordable housing, tax credit, real estate or partnership experience helpful but not required
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
