Job Title: Assistant Manager – Feedlot Operations

We are a large-scale, progressive feedlot operation located in Kansas, dedicated to delivering top-tier livestock care and operational excellence. With a strong team culture and a focus on long-term growth, we’re looking for a skilled and driven Assistant Manager to help lead our day-to-day yard operations.
As Assistant Manager, you’ll work directly under the Feedlot Manager and oversee daily operations across all departments of the yard. You’ll manage four department managers and be a key part of ensuring performance, efficiency, and animal welfare remain top priorities. This role offers long-term career advancement for the right individual.
Supervise day-to-day feedlot operations across Cattle, Feed, Mill, and Maintenance departments
Manage, coach, and support four department managers
Coordinate closely with the Feedlot Manager on operational strategies and improvements
Monitor performance metrics and ensure adherence to animal care and safety protocols
Lead team meetings and promote a culture of accountability and communication
Identify and solve problems proactively across departments
Support staff development and help build future leaders within the operation
Minimum 3+ years of feedlot experience, including department-level management
Strong knowledge of feedlot operations (animal health, feeding systems, maintenance, mill, etc.)
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
