Buyer
We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical Buyer to support procurement activities and ensure timely, cost-effective sourcing of materials and services. This role requires strong independence, the ability to collaborate across multiple departments, and proficiency with ERP systems—preferably Epicor. The ideal candidate will be skilled in interpreting specifications, understanding blueprints, and maintaining accurate Bill of Materials while cultivating strong supplier relationships.
Responsibilities:
Manage material replenishment activities and review planned material requirements to generate purchase orders.
Monitor open orders, communicate order status, and work closely with suppliers to resolve delays or discrepancies.
Issue RFQs, evaluate quotes, and negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with new and existing suppliers.
Ensure supplier certifications, Non-Disclosures, and compliance documents are maintained and up to date.
Review and interpret specifications to ensure correct revisions are used for all purchased materials.
Update part master data with pricing, lead time, and specification changes.
Manage MRO requisitions and purchases.
Participate in cross-functional improvement projects with production, manufacturing, and other internal teams.
Support multiple software/ERP platforms and maintain strong familiarity with Epicor or similar systems.
Maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, communicating proactively to resolve issues.
Adhere to company procedures while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in business or equivalent experience preferred.
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing purchasing or production-support role.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to read blueprints, interpret specifications, and create BOMs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and previous MRP/ERP experience (Epicor preferred).
Ability to work independently with strong initiative, self-motivation, and a consistent work ethic.
Experience training or mentoring others is a plus.
