Corporate Tax Manager

Location: Columbus, OH

Overview

A well-established regional CPA and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Manager for its corporate tax group in Columbus (hybrid). You will help clients with income tax accounting under ASC 740, working closely with client accounting departments on GAAP and IFRS reporting, and lead client meetings on compliance and planning projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop strong client relationships on tax consulting and compliance engagements
• Manage engagement workflow, team resources and billing; review engagement profitability
• Review tax returns prepared by staff and recommend accuracy improvements and tax savings opportunities
• Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues and implications
• Provide leadership, counseling and career guidance to the engagement team
• Stay informed of current and proposed tax legislation and communicate impacts to clients
• Represent the firm and build relationships through professional and community events

Qualifications

• CPA, J.D., LL.M. or Master's in Taxation required; EA accepted in lieu of CPA
• 5+ years of public accounting experience in tax planning and/or preparing and reviewing returns and work papers
• Demonstrated experience with federal corporate returns (1120s), tax provision preparation and/or ASC 740
• Ability to develop business and foster client relationships
• Strong leadership, training and mentoring skills
• Excellent writing, communication and tax research skills
