We are seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to grow and manage business within a defined territory for residential construction and building materials customers. This role focuses on developing strong relationships with builders, contractors, remodelers, and construction-focused businesses while driving profitable sales of products such as windows, doors, siding, roofing, decking, ADUs, and other residential building materials.
Key Responsibilities
Prospect, develop, and manage relationships with builders, general contractors, remodelers, and residential construction professionals.
Grow sales within an assigned territory by identifying new business opportunities and expanding existing accounts.
Conduct jobsite visits, perform product demonstrations, and provide technical product knowledge to customers.
Develop and execute a sales strategy that aligns with company goals for revenue, margin, and market share growth.
Prepare quotes, bids, and proposals; assist customers with product selection and project planning.
Collaborate with internal teams (estimating, customer service, operations, logistics) to ensure accurate order fulfillment and excellent customer experience.
Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and customer activity tracking using a CRM.
Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities.
Stay current on building materials trends, product specifications, installation techniques, and competitive offerings.
Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals.
Qualifications
2–5+ years of outside sales experience in building materials, residential construction, or home improvement products.
Proven success in territory management and relationship-based selling.
Strong understanding of residential construction processes and product applications (windows, doors, siding, roofing, ADUs, etc.).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to read plans/blueprints is a plus.
Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Valid driver’s license; ability to travel within the territory.
