Project Accountant | Commercial Construction

Behind every successful construction project is someone keeping the financial details on track. An Atlanta-area commercial general contractor is seeking a Project Accountant to work alongside its accounting and project management teams.
This role offers the opportunity to stay involved throughout the life of a project—from initial setup and monthly billing through final closeout.
Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate project financial records and job cost reports.
Prepare owner billings and process subcontractor invoices.
Track contracts, change orders, commitments, and project expenses.
Review invoices for accuracy and required supporting documentation.
Reconcile project accounts and help resolve billing discrepancies.
Work with project managers to monitor budgets and costs.
Assist with month-end close, financial reporting, and project closeout.
Requirements:
A degree in Accounting is required.
Previous accounting experience in the construction industry is required.
Understanding of job cost accounting and construction billing.
Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with construction accounting software.
Strong organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.
Ability to manage deadlines across multiple projects.
