About the Opportunity

A highly regarded, established law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Attorney to join its growing practice in Hinsdale, IL. The firm handles a sophisticated mix of complex commercial litigation, professional liability, and high-stakes business disputes. This position offers a sophisticated suburban practice with a premier caseload, avoiding the daily downtown Chicago commute while providing a clear path toward senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead counsel on a diverse portfolio of complex commercial and civil litigation matters from inception through trial or resolution.

  • Formulate, execute, and oversee comprehensive litigation strategies for corporate clients, business owners, and individuals.

  • Conduct first-chair trials, evidentiary hearings, arbitrations, and appellate oral arguments in both state and federal courts.

  • Deconstruct complex legal issues to draft high-level pleadings, appellate briefs, and dispositive motions.

  • Lead comprehensive discovery strategies, including taking and defending depositions of key executives, expert witnesses, and adverse parties.

  • Provide strategic mentorship, file oversight, and performance reviews for junior associates and litigation paralegals.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 6 or more years of intensive commercial or civil litigation experience, with demonstrable first-chair or significant second-chair trial experience.

  • Education: J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.

  • Licensure: Active member in good standing with the Illinois State Bar (ARDC).

  • Skills: * Exceptional courtroom presence and refined oral advocacy skills.

    • Advanced legal writing, analytical acumen, and case-valuation abilities.

    • Proven track record of managing client relationships and acting as the primary point of contact.

    • A portable book of business is welcome but not required for this position.
