Associate Attorney – Assessment Recovery

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Position Type: Full-Time

An established real estate law firm in Indianapolis is hiring an Associate Attorney for its growing Assessment Recovery division. This opportunity offers a clear path for professional development, high-visibility client engagement, and long-term career growth.

Core Practice Areas: Assessment recovery, money judgments, bankruptcy, judgment execution, foreclosure, and general real property litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full-Spectrum Litigation: Oversee cases from intake to resolution, including drafting complaints and answers, coordinating discovery, preparing witnesses, taking/defending depositions, handling motion practice, and conducting trials.

  • Client Advisory & Leadership: Serve as a main point of contact, advise clients on case progress, lead corporate client meetings, and participate in public speaking opportunities.

  • Case & Team Management: Manage assigned and self-originated caseloads, guide administrative staff, and maintain electronic task lists and billing via modern legal software.

Requirements:

  • Bar Admission: Must be licensed to practice law in Indiana.

  • Experience: 0–5 years of litigation background in real estate, corporate, or contract law, or civil governmental representation.

  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft operating systems and practice management software.

  • Flexibility & Skills: Strong interpersonal presence, solid work ethic, and availability for regular business hours with occasional evening/weekend client meetings.
