Position Overview
We are seeking an Associate Attorney with approximately 2–5 years of civil litigation experience to join a growing Labor & Employment practice. Labor and employment experience is preferred but not required. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys litigation and wants meaningful hands-on experience, including motion practice, depositions, client interaction, and trial participation.
The ideal candidate is a strong writer and analytical thinker who is interested in developing their courtroom skills while working collaboratively with an experienced litigation team. Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with a litigation team to analyze and resolve complex employment issues
- Draft persuasive court briefs, legal memoranda, motions, and other legal documents
- Represent clients in hearings, law and motion proceedings, and trials
- Take and defend depositions
- Propound and respond to written discovery
- Conduct legal research and provide practical legal advice to clients
- Review, analyze, and interpret contracts and other complex documents
- Communicate directly with clients and develop strong professional relationships
- Contribute positively and creatively to collaborative litigation and trial teams
- Manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines efficiently
Qualifications
- Approximately 2–5 years of civil litigation experience
- Labor and employment experience is preferred but not required
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Demonstrated interest in litigation and courtroom advocacy
- Experience with discovery, motion practice, and/or depositions preferred
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, including contracts
- Strong judgment and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with clients and colleagues
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize competing deadlines
- Initiative, accountability, and a commitment to professional growth
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school preferred
- Active California bar license in good standing
