SALES MANAGER/BRANCH MANAGER – Freight Forwarding & Domestic Logistics

THIS POSITION IS 70% SALES

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Branch Manager / Sales Manager to lead our non-asset-based logistics branch. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing a high-performing team, and driving sales growth in both domestic and international freight forwarding services. The ideal candidate has a strong background in logistics, brokerage, and customer relationship management within a fast-paced, service-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to grow branch revenue across domestic transportation and international freight forwarding (air/ocean).
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets (FTL, LTL, intermodal, air/ocean, customs brokerage, etc.).
  • Maintain and expand relationships with key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborate with internal pricing and operations teams to deliver competitive proposals and ensure service execution.

Branch Operations:

  • Oversee day-to-day branch operations, including quoting, booking, documentation, and customer service functions.
  • Ensure timely and compliant movement of freight with carriers, agents, and third-party partners.
  • Monitor KPIs such as shipment volumes, gross profit, on-time performance, and customer service metrics.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of transportation regulations, international trade compliance, and industry trends.

Team Leadership:

  • Hire, train, and manage a team of logistics coordinators, account managers, and sales reps.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and development opportunities.

Customer Management:

  • Serve as the escalation point for complex customer issues or service failures.
  • Partner with clients to understand their logistics challenges and provide value-driven solutions.
  • Promote a customer-first mindset throughout the branch.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in freight forwarding, 3PL, or non-asset-based logistics sales and operations.
  • Strong understanding of domestic trucking, international freight (air/ocean), and customs brokerage.
  • Proven ability to generate new business and grow existing accounts.
  • Experience managing teams and overseeing branch-level P&L (preferred).
  • Proficient with logistics systems, TMS platforms, and CRM tools.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of Incoterms, international documentation, and customs regulations.
  • Existing book of business or strong industry network (a plus).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

SALARY - $75000.00 - $120,000.00
