Project Manager – Structural Steel Erection
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee structural steel erection projects from award through completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel erection and be comfortable managing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, field crews, and client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Manage structural steel erection projects from start to finish
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, costs, and overall performance
- Coordinate with general contractors, owners, engineers, and field personnel
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Coordinate steel deliveries, erection schedules, cranes, equipment, and manpower
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Conduct project meetings and provide regular updates to management
- Monitor project progress and address issues to keep work on schedule
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget
- Support project closeout and final documentation
Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management experience in structural steel erection
- Strong understanding of steel erection processes, sequencing, rigging, and field operations
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and erection plans
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and contracts
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with general contractors and commercial construction teams
