Job Description

We are seeking an Energy Litigation Attorney with 3-7 years of experience to support our dynamic energy law practice in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in Texas and have a strong background in litigation, particularly within the energy sector. You will be involved in high-profile energy disputes, including regulatory matters, contract disputes, environmental issues, and more. Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle complex energy-related litigation matters from inception through trial and appeal.
  • Represent clients in energy disputes, including those involving oil, gas, renewable energy, and energy regulatory issues.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on energy law issues, including federal and state regulations.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and collaborate with clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Manage client relationships and communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Stay current on developments in energy law and related areas to provide cutting-edge legal services.
  • Assist with settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Participate in business development and marketing efforts as required.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
  • 3-7 years of litigation experience, with a focus on energy law, energy regulatory issues, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of energy-related legal issues, including oil and gas, renewable energy, regulatory compliance, and environmental laws.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex cases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated client service skills and business development abilities.
  • Prior experience with trial preparation, depositions, and court appearances is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with energy regulatory agencies such as the Texas Railroad Commission, FERC, or EPA.
  • Familiarity with alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, including mediation and arbitration.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.
