Project Engineer – Heavy Civil Construction
Position Overview
We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of heavy civil construction projects including roadway, bridge, and civil sitework operations. This role will work closely with Project Managers and field teams to assist with project coordination, scheduling, documentation, subcontractor management, and overall project execution.
The ideal candidate will have experience working on civil infrastructure projects involving earthwork, underground utilities, drainage, paving, and concrete structures.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination and administration
- Review project plans, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
- Track project schedules, quantities, costs, and production progress
- Coordinate with Superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors
- Support procurement and material tracking efforts
- Prepare and maintain project documentation and reporting
- Assist with project forecasting, budgeting, and cost control
- Participate in project meetings and maintain communication with clients and stakeholders
- Help ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget
Qualifications
- 1–5 years of experience in heavy civil construction or related internship experience
- Experience working on roadway, bridge, or civil infrastructure projects preferred
- Exposure to earthwork, utilities, drainage, paving, or concrete construction
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
- Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred
