Position Summary: The Commercial Credit Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting lenders by underwriting credit extension requests for both new and existing commercial clients. This position involves performing detailed financial analyses for all lending opportunities, preparing credit approval and modification requests for presentation to the Loan Committee, conducting annual credit reviews, and ensuring compliance with the bank's credit policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough analyses of financial statements and agency reports for prospective and active borrowing accounts. Prepare and defend comprehensive written reports evaluating the short- and long-term financial prospects of individuals or companies.
  • Loan Recommendations: Provide well-documented recommendations to Loan Officers regarding the approval or denial of loans. Prepare detailed loan submissions to support these recommendations.
  • Trend Identification: Identify and interpret trends in financial data, including key financial ratios such as cash flow to debt service and debt-to-equity ratios.
  • Documentation: Ensure meticulous documentation of all financial analyses through spreadsheets and written credit offering memorandums.
  • Loan Grading: Suggest appropriate loan grades based on thorough credit analysis and documentation review.
  • Reporting: Provide assigned reports in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Credit Analyst in a banking environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis software and spreadsheet applications.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
