About the Opportunity
An established and growing financial institution is seeking an experienced Sr. Commercial Banker to join its Middle Market Commercial Banking team in Western Michigan. You’ll be responsible for managing and expanding a portfolio of commercial clients, developing new relationships, and working closely with credit and operational teams to structure sound financing solutions for middle market businesses.
What You’ll Do
Develop and grow commercial banking relationships with mid-sized businesses
Source and acquire new clients through networking, referrals, and outbound calling
Deepen existing client relationships by identifying and addressing business and personal banking needs
Structure and negotiate commercial loans, including C&I credit facilities
Maintain a strong understanding of the market, competition, and current lending trends
Ensure loan files are properly documented and remain in compliance
Manage renewals, monitor risk, and address collection efforts as needed
Represent the institution at networking and business development events
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field
7+ years of commercial lending experience with a focus on C&I lending
Strong credit acumen and risk assessment experience; formal credit training is preferred
Proven ability to develop new business and maintain key client relationships
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
Familiarity with commercial banking products and services
