Position Overview
A respected Savannah law firm is seeking a Real Estate Litigation Associate with 2–5 years of experience to join its litigation practice. The attorney will represent clients in sophisticated real estate and development disputes and will have the opportunity to handle matters through discovery, motions practice, trial, and appeal.
Responsibilities
- Represent property owners, developers, businesses, and other clients in real estate disputes
- Handle litigation from initial case strategy through trial and appeal
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and appellate filings
- Conduct discovery and take and defend depositions
- Prepare matters for trial and participate in courtroom proceedings
- Handle disputes involving real estate and development, land use, local government, contracts, and related commercial matters
- Appear in Georgia Superior and State Courts, the Georgia State-wide Business Court, and U.S. District Courts
- Communicate directly with clients regarding case strategy and developments
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of litigation experience
- Real estate, land use, construction, or commercial litigation experience preferred
- Strong legal research and written advocacy skills
- Experience with motions practice, discovery, and depositions
- Strong attention to detail and analytical ability
- Excellent client communication skills
- Desire to develop meaningful courtroom and trial experience
- Georgia Bar admission required
