Maintenance Manager
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the repair, servicing, and preventive maintenance of hydraulic equipment and heavy machinery across multiple scrapyard locations. This role oversees a traveling maintenance team and ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of cranes, backhoes, material handlers, balers, shears, shredders, and support equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and direct the traveling maintenance team across multiple sites.
Oversee inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
Coordinate repairs and emergency maintenance with minimal impact on operations.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment logs.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
Train and mentor technicians, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with operations leadership to align maintenance priorities with production needs.
Qualifications:
5+ years of heavy equipment maintenance experience (scrap, recycling, or construction industry preferred).
Strong expertise in hydraulics, mechanical systems, and electrical troubleshooting.
Proven leadership experience managing maintenance teams or mobile crews.
Knowledge of OSHA and industrial safety standards.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel between locations.
Preferred: Certifications in hydraulics, welding, or heavy equipment repair; experience in scrap/recycling.
