Trust & Estates Attorney Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Trust & Estates Attorney with experience representing high-net-worth clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estate planning, trust administration, and tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies. As a member of our team, you will work closely with clients to create bespoke solutions that reflect their goals, values, and family dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise high-net-worth clients on complex estate planning strategies, including trusts, wills, and tax-efficient wealth transfer.
- Draft and review estate planning documents, including revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives.
- Counsel clients on gift planning, charitable giving, and philanthropic strategies.
- Prepare and file state and federal estate tax returns, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Represent clients in trust and estate administration, including probate proceedings and asset distribution.
- Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to create comprehensive and effective estate plans.
- Assist clients with business succession planning, family governance, and asset protection strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in trust, estates, and tax law to ensure the best advice and strategies for clients.
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide ongoing legal support as their needs evolve.
Qualifications:
- 7+ Years experience in litigation preferred.
- Strong knowledge of estate and trust administration, gift and estate taxation, and wealth management strategies.
- Excellent drafting skills, with a strong attention to detail in preparing estate planning documents.
- Ability to handle complex and sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Experience working with high-net-worth clients and their financial teams (e.g., accountants, financial planners).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build client trust and collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- LLM in taxation a plus
- Licensed in MA in good standing.
