Lead Architectural Designer
Location: Hilton Head, SC
About the Role: We are seeking a Lead Architectural Designer to join our growing team—someone who can take ownership of projects, lead the design process, and work directly with clients to bring their vision to life. This is an excellent opportunity for a designer who is on the path to licensure and ready to step into a more leadership-driven role.
What You’ll Do:
- Create architectural plans, drawings, and design concepts with minimal direction
- Meet directly with clients to understand their vision and translate it into thoughtful, functional designs
- Develop designs that align with neighborhood ARB (Architectural Review Board) guidelines
- Produce and manage as-built drawings and conduct site verification
- Collaborate with internal teams and consultants to ensure seamless project execution
- Take on increasing leadership responsibilities, including mentoring and managing junior team members as the team grows
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong architectural design background with the ability to lead projects independently
- Experience developing plans and drawings beyond basic drafting
- Comfortable in a client-facing role with strong communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of ARB guidelines and ability to design within regulatory constraints
- Experience with as-builts, site verification, and field coordination
- On track for architectural licensure (or actively pursuing) preferred
- Leadership mindset with the desire to grow into a team management role
