Job Description

Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Special Focus: Neurological Rehabilitation, Balance & Fall Prevention

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic rehabilitation team. While this role includes treating a diverse patient population, there is a strong emphasis on neurological conditions, balance training, and fall risk reduction.

This is an excellent opportunity for a PTA with a passion for working with patients facing mobility challenges—especially those recovering from stroke, Parkinson’s disease, vestibular disorders, or age-related balance decline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists to implement individualized treatment plans for patients with a wide range of diagnoses
  • Provide hands-on support during therapeutic exercises, gait training, and balance-focused interventions
  • Assist in neuromuscular re-education, proprioceptive training, and functional mobility exercises
  • Monitor and document patient performance, reporting observations to the supervising PT
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, fall prevention strategies, and safety awareness
  • Contribute to a patient-centered, outcome-driven care environment
  • Ensure treatment sessions are conducted safely, efficiently, and with compassion

Preferred Clinical Experience:

  • Neurological rehabilitation (e.g., stroke, brain injury, Parkinson’s)
  • Vestibular and balance dysfunction
  • Fall risk assessment and prevention strategies
  • Familiarity with standardized assessments

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited PTA program
  • Current PTA license (or eligible) in the state of practice
  • Strong clinical judgment and understanding of therapeutic best practices
  • Excellent communication, time management, and patient engagement skills
  • Passion for helping patients regain independence and confidence

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits
  • Continuing education opportunities
  • Supportive interdisciplinary team environment
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients at risk for falls or living with neurological impairments

If you're a PTA who thrives on helping patients improve mobility, reduce fall risk, and rebuild confidence, we’d love to hear from you.
