A growing, 100% employee-owned engineering and construction organization is seeking an experienced Director of Resource Planning to lead enterprise-wide project resource and workforce planning.

This senior-level position will ensure the right people are assigned to the right projects at the right time by balancing project requirements, employee capabilities, technical expertise, workload, availability, geography, and professional development.

The Director will work closely with executive leadership, operations, project executives, Business Development, HR, and Talent Acquisition to forecast workforce needs and develop staffing strategies across multiple business units and locations.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead enterprise resource planning across operating companies and business units.

· Match project requirements with employee skills, experience, certifications, and availability.

· Develop staffing recommendations for current and future projects.

· Maintain workforce demand and capacity forecasts.

· Identify future staffing shortages and capacity constraints.

· Recommend hiring, transfers, or contract resources.

· Monitor resource utilization across departments and locations.

· Build balanced project teams based on project complexity and individual strengths.

· Support succession planning and employee development through project assignments.

· Use business pipeline data to forecast long-term workforce needs.

· Develop dashboards for utilization, capacity, bench strength, staffing shortages, and assignments.

· Partners with Operations, Business Development, HR, Talent Acquisition, and executive leadership.

· Establish standardized resource planning processes, metrics, and KPIs.

· Recommend workforce planning technology and process improvements.

Qualifications

· 10+ years of progressive experience in project management, operations, workforce planning, resource management, or construction management.

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Business, Operations, HR, or related field required.

· Experience supporting large, multi-location engineering, construction, manufacturing, or industrial organizations preferred.

· Experience balancing workforce capacity with project demand.

· Strong workforce forecasting and resource allocation experience.

· Strong understanding of project delivery organizations and staffing models.

· Advanced analytical and forecasting skills.

· Strong business acumen and relationship-building abilities.

· High proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

· Experience with ERP, HRIS, workforce planning, or project management software.

· Workday Adaptive Planning, Workday Workforce Planning, Oracle, SAP, UKG, or similar experience preferred.

· PMP or equivalent project management experience preferred.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to travel domestically up to 30% initially, decreasing to approximately 10% once established.

· Valid driver's license required.

Compensation & Benefits

· $175,000–$200,000 Base Salary
