CAD TECHNICIAN – CIVIL CONSTRUCTION

A growing civil construction company is seeking an experienced CAD Technician with strong AutoCAD skills and a background in civil construction, specifically earthwork, grading, paving, and site development. The ideal candidate can interpret construction plans and produce accurate, detailed drawings to support projects from planning through completion.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and revise civil construction drawings using AutoCAD
  • Develop plans for grading, earthwork, paving, and site development projects
  • Interpret construction plans, engineering drawings, and project specifications
  • Assist with site layouts, elevations, contours, and grading plans
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, estimators, and field teams
  • Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements
  • Incorporate design revisions and field changes into CAD drawings
  • Maintain organized drawing files and project documentation

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hands-on AutoCAD experience is required
  • Previous experience with civil construction, site development, or heavy civil projects
  • Working knowledge of earthwork, grading, paving, and site layout plans
  • Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Familiarity with grading plans, cut-and-fill, drainage, paving, and earthwork quantities
  • Experience supporting civil contractors, sitework contractors, or heavy civil construction teams
