Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Civil CAD Technician to join our team and support civil construction and land development projects. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing technical drawings, assisting with site design, and working alongside engineers, designers, and project managers to develop accurate construction plans.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in civil drafting, AutoCAD, and site development who wants to contribute to projects from initial design through construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, modify, and maintain civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
- Develop site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, drainage plans, and erosion control drawings.
- Assist with land development and civil construction design projects.
- Interpret survey data, engineering sketches, construction documents, and design specifications.
- Incorporate engineering markups and revisions into project drawings.
- Assist with preparing construction plan sets for permitting, bidding, and field use.
- Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, project managers, and other design professionals.
- Maintain accurate drawing files, project documentation, and revision records.
- Ensure drawings meet project specifications and applicable local and industry standards.
- Support multiple projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining drawing accuracy.
Qualifications
- Experience with AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience is preferred.
- Background in civil drafting, civil engineering technology, land development, or site design.
- Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and site layouts is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent practical experience preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Commercial or residential land development.
- Site preparation, earthwork, and grading plans.
- Stormwater management and underground utility layouts.
- Surveying and topographic plan interpretation.
- Construction documentation and permitting processes.
