A well-established food/meat manufacturing company with multiple Midwest facilities is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent to lead first-shift operations. This organization has more than 20 years of success, a strong values-driven culture, and a commitment to developing and promoting internal talent.
Schedule: First shift, 6:30 AM – 3:30/4:00 PM
Reports to: Plant Manager
Team Size: 16 total employees, including 3 supervisors
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team
Oversee electrical, mechanical, cooling, and conveyor systems
Maintain and troubleshoot plant equipment to ensure efficient operation
Collaborate with production and leadership to prioritize work orders
Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed
Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives
Qualifications:
Proven leadership experience in a maintenance management role
Strong electrical and general mechanical background
Experience with coolers, conveyors, and plant systems
Meat, protein, or food manufacturing experience strongly preferred
Ability to guide teams, set expectations, and drive accountability
