Job Description

A well-established food/meat manufacturing company with multiple Midwest facilities is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent to lead first-shift operations. This organization has more than 20 years of success, a strong values-driven culture, and a commitment to developing and promoting internal talent.

Schedule: First shift, 6:30 AM – 3:30/4:00 PM

Reports to: Plant Manager

Team Size: 16 total employees, including 3 supervisors

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team

  • Oversee electrical, mechanical, cooling, and conveyor systems

  • Maintain and troubleshoot plant equipment to ensure efficient operation

  • Collaborate with production and leadership to prioritize work orders

  • Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed

  • Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience in a maintenance management role

  • Strong electrical and general mechanical background

  • Experience with coolers, conveyors, and plant systems

  • Meat, protein, or food manufacturing experience strongly preferred

  • Ability to guide teams, set expectations, and drive accountability
