International Sales Executive (Remote – Must Reside in Chicagoland Area)

About the Role:

We are seeking a results-driven International Sales Executive to join our growing team. This individual will focus on developing new business opportunities and managing existing accounts within the international logistics and freight forwarding space. While this is a remote position, candidates must reside in the Chicagoland area to attend occasional in-person client meetings or team events.

This is a high-impact role requiring strong international logistics knowledge, consultative selling skills, and a proven track record of generating revenue in global supply chain solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop, and close new international logistics business opportunities.
  • Sell international freight forwarding services (air, ocean, import/export, customs clearance, etc.).
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients, especially those engaged in global trade.
  • Maintain and grow existing accounts by delivering exceptional service and identifying upsell opportunities.
  • Conduct virtual and in-person meetings with prospective and current clients (local travel as needed).
  • Collaborate with internal operations teams to ensure successful onboarding and service delivery.
  • Prepare and present tailored proposals and pricing strategies for prospective customers.
  • Monitor market trends and competitors to identify growth opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets and KPIs.

Requirements:

  • Must reside in the Chicagoland area (within commuting distance for occasional client meetings).
  • 5+ years of experience in international logistics or freight forwarding sales (air, ocean, import/export).
  • Domestic logistics sales experience is a plus, but international sales experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of global supply chain processes, Incoterms, customs regulations, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and close international accounts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Proficient in CRM tools and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to travel locally (Chicagoland area) for client visits as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with global freight forwarders or 3PLs.
  • Book of business or existing industry network is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with international trade compliance is a bonus.

Location: Remote (Work from Home) – Must currently reside in the Chicagoland Area

SALARY: 90K TO 120K + COMMISSIONS
