Mechanical Detailer

Overview: The Mechanical Detailer will be responsible for developing accurate, high-quality 3D models and construction drawings for HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems. This role works closely with engineers, project managers, and field teams to support design-build and prefabrication efforts across a variety of commercial and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed Revit (BIM/VDC) models for HVAC ductwork, piping, and mechanical systems
  • Produce coordinated shop drawings, installation drawings, and fabrication documents
  • Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to ensure constructability and clash-free designs
  • Interpret project specifications, blueprints, and design documents
  • Support prefabrication and field installation through accurate detailing and coordination
  • Maintain drawing standards, file organization, and revision control

Qualifications:

  • Required: Proficiency in Revit for mechanical detailing (BIM/VDC)
  • Experience with HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, and mechanical construction
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and coordination processes is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in mechanical contracting, sheet metal, or piping systems
  • Experience supporting design-build projects and prefabrication workflows
  • Exposure to clash detection and coordination tools (Navisworks or similar)
