Supply Planner in O'Fallon

Job Snapshot

Job Description

We are conducting a search for a Supply Planner with a well-established organization in the agricultural and food production industry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys figuring things out, working through complex challenges, and being at the center of a fast-moving operation.

The right person will be more than someone who can build a supply plan. Personality, initiative, judgment, and problem-solving ability will be critical to success in this role.

This position will work closely with both internal and external customers to identify and resolve inventory issues, balance competing priorities, and keep supply moving efficiently. Because priorities can shift quickly, this individual needs to be comfortable changing direction, making decisions, and staying productive in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do as a Supply Planner:

  • Develop and maintain supply plans to support business and customer needs.
  • Monitor inventory levels, availability, and potential supply constraints.
  • Partner with internal teams and external customers to identify and resolve inventory issues.
  • Investigate problems, connect the dots, and determine practical solutions.
  • Prioritize competing needs and adjust plans as business conditions change.
  • Communicate proactively when issues arise and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Collaborate across supply chain, operations, purchasing, logistics, and other functions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, inventory management, and overall supply chain performance.
  • Take ownership of issues from identification through resolution.
  • Potentially provide oversight and direction to a Supply Chain Coordinator as the team grows.

What We're Looking For in a Supply Planner:

We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, resourceful, and solutions-oriented.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Enjoys solving "puzzles" and figuring out how different pieces of a problem fit together.
  • Is a self-starter who doesn't need to be told what to do next.
  • Can prioritize effectively when everything feels important.
  • Is comfortable changing direction when circumstances change.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environment.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently with both internal and external customers.
  • Can balance attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture.
  • Takes ownership and follows through.
  • Brings a positive, collaborative attitude and understands the importance of relationships.

Personality Matters:

This isn't a role for someone who needs every day to look exactly the same.

We're looking for someone who likes to solve problems, asks good questions, stays calm when things change, and figures out a path forward. You should be comfortable picking up the phone, working through an issue with a customer or colleague, and taking ownership rather than waiting for someone else to solve the problem.

If you're the person people come to when something doesn't make sense and you enjoy finding the answer, this could be a great fit.

Compensation & Opportunity:

  • $70,000–$80,000 base salary, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Full-time, in-office position east of St. Louis.
  • Opportunity to grow into increased responsibility, including potential oversight of a Supply Chain Coordinator.
  • Opportunity to join an established organization where your ability to solve problems and make an impact will be valued.
