Position Summary
Our client, a growing regional seed company, is seeking a motivated and relationship-driven District Sales Manager to expand market share, strengthen dealer partnerships, and support growers throughout southwestern Minnesota. This individual will work closely with independent seed dealers and producers to deliver agronomic solutions, drive sales growth, and provide exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute annual territory sales plans to achieve seed sales goals.
- Recruit, train, and support independent seed dealers within the assigned territory.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with growers, dealers, and key agricultural influencers.
- Conduct sales calls alongside dealers to generate new business and increase market share.
- Provide agronomic recommendations and product positioning based on customer needs and local growing conditions.
- Deliver product training and sales support to dealers throughout the season.
- Monitor competitive activity, market trends, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing, product development, and leadership teams to maximize territory performance.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, customer records, and activity reports using CRM software.
- Represent the company at trade shows, field days, grower meetings, and industry events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Agricultural Business, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in seed sales, agronomy sales, or agricultural retail sales.
- Strong understanding of corn, soybean, and/or specialty crop production.
- Experience working with dealer networks is preferred.
- Proven ability to develop new business while maintaining existing customer relationships.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.
