Operations Manager – Onsite | Newfield, NJ

Salary: $135,000+ depending on experience

An established, rapidly expanding organization in the fresh-food supply chain space is seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to support the leadership team and ensure exceptional daily performance in a new, high-volume facility. Ideal candidates bring experience in:
Large-scale facility startups, produce handling, packing operations, cold-storage environments, and logistics. Backgrounds in high-volume food distribution facilities are highly preferred.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and maintain operational metrics that drive safety, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy, and damage reduction.
  • Promote a positive, team-oriented culture across all shifts.
  • Balance labor needs daily based on volume demands throughout the building.
  • Review current warehousing processes and design improved, cost-efficient workflows for warehouse and dock operations.
  • Partner with HR on employee development, coaching, and performance management systems.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement standardized processes that elevate service levels and reduce operational costs.
  • Ensure achievement of key performance indicators such as RFT (Right First Time), OTIF (On-Time, In-Full), and schedule adherence.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including food safety and workplace health requirements.
  • Ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and corrective actions.
  • Communicate facility goals clearly and support broader organizational objectives.
  • Handle additional duties as needed to support operational success.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in operations leadership preferred.
  • APICS and/or Six Sigma certification a plus.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, time-management, and analytical abilities.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Solid understanding of safety and compliance requirements.
  • Expertise in materials management, facility operations, production flow, quality control, cost control, and distribution best practices.
