As we expand our portfolio of healthcare projects in Austin, Texas, we are looking for a talented and experienced Superintendent to join our team.
Position Overview:
The Superintendent will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the construction of healthcare facilities, with a focus on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. This individual will work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure the projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in healthcare construction, MEP systems, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Supervise all construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project schedules, specifications, and safety protocols.
- MEP Coordination: Lead and manage MEP system installations, integration, and quality assurance, ensuring compliance with healthcare-specific standards.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and coordinate with subcontractors, field staff, and vendors to ensure a high standard of work.
- Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of quality, inspecting work, identifying issues, and implementing solutions to ensure superior project delivery.
- Safety Management: Lead by example in fostering a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Client Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with clients, stakeholders, and the project management team, ensuring timely updates and addressing concerns.
- Problem Solving: Proactively address and resolve project challenges and obstacles that arise, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
- Project Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and construction documentation.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 7+ years of experience as a Superintendent, with at least 3-5 years of experience in healthcare construction projects.
- MEP Expertise: Strong understanding of MEP systems and their integration in healthcare facilities.
- Project Leadership: Proven ability to manage large, complex projects, particularly in healthcare construction.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required.
- Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification required. LEED, PMP, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
- Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and other relevant technology.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with clients, team members, and subcontractors.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to resolve complex construction challenges efficiently.
