Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our team north of Austin. This position focuses on programming and optimizing horizontal lathes, with responsibility for reading technical blueprints, developing CNC code, adjusting cutting paths, and ensuring quality output. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of hands-on programming experience in a manufacturing environment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret technical drawings and set up machines in accordance with blueprints
Program CNC machines using computer software to model cutting paths and optimize production
Perform quality checks to ensure products meet engineering specifications
Adjust machine cutting paths, tooling, and settings to improve efficiency while maintaining quality
Research and maintain knowledge of existing and emerging CNC technologiesSupport prototype machining operations from quality planning through first piece approval
Assist with capital improvement projects, equipment justification, and technology implementation
Track, analyze, and communicate production data to support process improvements
Benchmark and implement industry best practices for machining and programming
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CNC Programmer (horizontal lathe preferred)
Strong proficiency in CNC machining, including setups, troubleshooting CNC code, tooling, and machine operation
Skilled in interpreting technical blueprints and drawings
Proficiency with CAD/CAM software; PLC knowledge preferred
Experience with AutoCAD, THICAM, and Esprit is a plus
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Familiarity with Lean principles, continuous improvement, and waste reduction methods
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly Rates 26 - 36/hr
