Job Description

Position: Employment Law Attorney

A highly regarded law firm in Sacramento is seeking an experienced Employment Law Attorney to join its team. This role offers the opportunity to handle complex employment law matters, including wage and hour disputes, discrimination claims, wrongful termination, and compliance issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take primary responsibility for employment litigation cases from inception through resolution

  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials

  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents

  • Provide strategic legal counsel on employment policies, compliance, and risk management

  • Negotiate settlements and engage in alternative dispute resolution

  • Mentor junior attorneys and support the firm’s long-term growth initiatives

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school

  • Active membership with the California State Bar

  • Minimum of 2 years of employment law experience (plaintiff or defense)

  • Strong litigation background, including depositions, motions practice, and trial advocacy

  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical abilities

  • Ability to manage cases independently while collaborating within a team environment
