Job Description

An AISC-certified Michigan steel erector needs a Business Development Manager to grow its share of large Midwest work, projects of 5,000+ tons. The position is permanent and full-time, pays $100,000-$200,000 per annum plus bonus incentives, and requires Midwest travel.

What the job covers

• Pursue structural steel packages of 5,000+ tons from first contact to award
• Grow relationships with owners and general contractors across Midwest markets
• Keep a close read on competitors, bid timing, and project pipelines
• Be the voice of an AISC-certified Michigan erector in client and industry circles
• Travel the Midwest regularly to build accounts

Ideal candidate

• Background in business development or sales for steel erection, structural steel, or heavy construction
• Success going after large-tonnage Midwest projects
• Preferred: established contacts with general contractors, fabricators, or owners
• Comfortable with Midwest travel
• Confident communicator with a solid closing record
