GPAC is partnering with a cutting edge K-12 independent school in Boca Raton that is seeking to add a STEM Teacher to its team for the 2025/2026 school year. This position will serve students in grades PreK to 8.
The STEM Teacher will guide students in hands-on, inquiry-based learning in a STEM Lab environment that utilizes computer programming, CAD, AI / Machine Learning, virtual learning and other emerging technologies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develops and delivers project-based learning activities that focus on the integration of learning technologies, engineering, and a connection to real-world problems and the core curriculum in the lower and middle grades.
- Develops learning experiences for students using programs that include: Google Apps, Creative Suite Adobe, Tinkercad, Google Sites, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, and Adobe Illustrator
- Maintains and instructs usage of equipment in the STEM Lab, such as 3D printers, Laser engraving machinery, etc.
- Assists with Technology Student Association classes and academic clubs
- Provides training opportunities for teachers on how to use the resources in the lab
- Provides instruction and support to Middle School and Upper School students during the Open Lab lunch periods
- Maintains awareness of best practices, emerging technologies, and new educational technologies and tools that may be incorporated into the lab
- Provides opportunities for students to implement, test, and deploy solutions while taking into consideration real-world constraints
- Creates opportunities for students to think critically, explore, investigate, and engage as problem solvers
- Encourages students to pursue their passions through hands-on exploration
- Incorporate 2D and 3D computer-assisted design and drafting, Raspberry Pi technology, Arduino code, Python, C++, and Java programming into projects and competitive events
- Helps build enthusiasm among students in the area of coding, emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and virtual reality.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Experience teaching in a classroom, preferably in an independent school
- Experience working with students on projects (hands-on learning)
