Industrial Steel Erection Estimator
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Steel Erection Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for industrial construction projects involving structural steel erection, ductwork, boilermaker work, and related industrial services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial jobsite operations, labor production, material takeoffs, and project execution.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for industrial steel construction and erection projects
- Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements
- Perform quantity takeoffs for structural steel, ductwork, piping supports, and related industrial components
- Develop labor, equipment, subcontractor, and material pricing
- Coordinate with project managers, field personnel, vendors, and subcontractors during the estimating process
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
- Assist with project handoff and budgeting after award
- Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information
Qualifications
- 3+ years of estimating experience in industrial steel construction or related trades
- Experience with structural steel erection, ductwork, boilermaker work, or heavy industrial construction
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of industrial construction means and methods
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
Preferred Experience
- Power plants, manufacturing facilities, refineries, chemical plants, or similar industrial environments
- Field experience in steel erection or industrial construction
- Knowledge of welding, rigging, and heavy equipment operations
