The Opportunity

As a P&C Underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating, pricing, and managing insurance risks for both new and renewal business. You will be instrumental in cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with our valued brokers, carriers, and insureds, directly contributing to our continued success and market standing. Key Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly underwrite new and renewal Property and Casualty insurance submissions, evaluating complex risks and exposures with keen attention to detail.
  • Determine appropriate pricing levels, coverage terms, and conditions to ensure profitability and competitiveness while meeting client needs.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with carriers and clients to resolve policy issues, answer coverage questions, and provide clear guidance.
  • Provide superior customer service to brokers and/or insureds in a proactive and timely fashion, ensuring their needs are addressed promptly and accurately.
  • Actively identify new opportunities for business growth through consistent communication, market awareness, and collaborative efforts with insureds.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams to streamline processes and enhance overall operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate and organized underwriting files and documentation.

What You Bring

  • Required Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 2 years of progressive Property and Casualty underwriting experience.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with a positive, proactive, and adaptable attitude.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex information clearly and persuasively.
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a genuine focus on client satisfaction.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Multilingual abilities (e.g., Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese) are a significant plus, enabling us to better serve our diverse client base.
    • Experience working with a diverse client base in a metropolitan area.
