Tax Director

Location: Nashville, TN

Overview

An entrepreneurial, growth-focused CPA firm in Nashville, backed by a national professional services platform, is looking to hire an experienced Tax Director (Tax Manager level also considered) to support and expand its tax practice. You will deliver tax advisory and compliance services, help lead the practice and build a high-performing team. Hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tax advisory and compliance services to entrepreneurial businesses, family offices and high-net-worth individuals
• Oversee preparation of individual, partnership, trust and corporate tax filings and review complex returns
• Advise on complex tax issues, entity structuring and planning opportunities
• Respond to client inquiries across income, franchise, sales/use and related compliance areas
• Help manage and grow the Nashville tax practice and its financial performance
• Develop new client relationships throughout the Nashville market
• Recruit, mentor and develop the tax team
• Conduct tax research, develop engagement budgets and pricing and assign staff workloads

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required
• 10+ years of progressive business taxation experience, ideally with a Big 4, large national or leading regional firm
• Proven success leading client engagements and driving practice growth
• Strong technical expertise across corporate, partnership, trust and individual taxation
• Excellent communication skills
