Director of Treatment Operations

Position Overview: We are seeking a results-driven Director of Facility Operations to lead and optimize all functions within our facility network. This role is critical in ensuring operational excellence, driving revenue growth, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a strong culture of safety and service. The Director will oversee plant operations and staff, promote best practices, and partner with cross-functional teams to implement strategies that maximize efficiency and profitability.This will oversee a handful of facilities.  Travel 70%

This individual will champion continuous improvement, mentor plant operators, and provide both tactical and strategic direction across locations. From developing budgets and forecasts to ensuring customer satisfaction and regulatory adherence, this leader will play a key role in shaping the success of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead facility operations with a focus on safety, compliance, and bottom-line results

  • Own full P&L responsibility for the division

  • Collaborate with Sales, Service, and Customer Solutions teams to drive volume growth and pricing opportunities

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and new entrants to stay ahead of the curve

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs

  • Ensure all sites comply with local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards

  • Oversee staffing plans to align with capacity, productivity, and customer needs

  • Coach, mentor, and develop employees through goal-setting, accountability, and performance feedback

  • Manage environmental goals and disposal strategies to remain compliant and cost-effective

  • Build and maintain systems that ensure integrity in processes, procedures, and reporting

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies and inspectors

  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and operational reports

  • Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service across the organization

  • Support company-wide initiatives and projects as needed

What You Bring:

  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-site or cross-functional operations

  • Strong understanding of budget management, forecasting, and full P&L oversight

  • Solid grasp of compliance and regulatory requirements (wastewater/environmental preferred)

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills

  • High attention to detail with a focus on metrics, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making

  • Ability to build relationships across departments, with customers, and with regulatory bodies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel required; Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook a plus)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in wastewater or a related field

  • Waste stream or wastewater-specific training strongly preferred
