Gpac is partnered with a growingag retailer that is seeking a Superintendent for a recently acquired location.  This is a newer facility and presents a great entry level type role for someone looking to start building a career in ag and operations management.  Pay range can vary depending on experience but could be in the mid to upper $20's/hr and they have a top notch benefits package as well. Candidates of all experience level are encouraged to apply if they have any familiarity with grain elevators.  

The Grain Superintendent position will require someone able work on their own for the most part but they have a great team that can be a resource as someone learns all of the functions and duties of the role. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operations of the facilities according to objectives to provide patrons with prompt, courteous and effective service.
  • Follow a program of housekeeping, record keeping, safety, and equipment maintenance to avoid breakdowns and limit safety hazards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate with the operations manager to maximize efficient use of facilities, equipment, and personnel.
  • Load and unload trucks as directed in a timely and accurate manner

 

  • Follow all company policies and procedures and attend safety training as required.
  • Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek guidance to correct them.
  • Assist with the operation of the fertilizer, chemical, and seed facilities.
  • Be willing to learn new skills, perform duties as assigned, and work extended hours as needed to meet our seasonal needs.

Basic Qualifications: (required)

  • Ability to lift 75 pounds and complete other physically strenuous activities.
  • Ability to work in dusty and adverse weather conditions with the proper protective equipment.
  • Ability to pass random drug and alcohol screenings.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a Class A CDL.

Preferred Qualifications: (desired)

2 years of grain facility experience.
