Project Manager – Excavation & Underground Utilities

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Project Manager with a background in civil sitework construction to oversee projects involving earthwork, excavation, underground utilities, and grading. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience managing field operations and coordinating all aspects of heavy civil sitework projects from start to finish. This position offers excellent long-term stability and the opportunity to grow with a well-established contractor.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and manage all phases of sitework and utility construction projects

  • Oversee field crews, subcontractors, and equipment operations to ensure productivity and quality

  • Monitor budgets, cost control, and project progress to maintain profitability

  • Coordinate closely with engineers, owners, and inspectors to ensure project compliance

  • Enforce safety policies and quality control procedures on all job sites

  • Manage project documentation, change orders, and client communication

  • Support preconstruction planning and assist in estimating when needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing civil construction or sitework projects

  • Strong background in earthwork, excavation, underground utilities, and grading

  • Proven leadership and communication skills with field and office personnel

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

  • Proficiency with project management and scheduling software preferred

  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred but not required
