Job Title: On-Site Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented On-Site Assistant Project Manager to join our team in the construction industry. This role involves working directly on construction sites, assisting in the management and execution of projects. The Assistant Project Manager will travel to various project sites and will have the opportunity to transition into a Project Management role within 1-2 years, with no travel requirements after that time. This position offers a competitive base salary along with a per diem to cover travel and subsistence costs while working on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Coordinate and communicate with project teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure tasks are completed according to project plans.
- Assist with managing project schedules, resources, and materials to keep projects on track.
- Help monitor and enforce project safety standards and compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on project progress, challenges, and milestones.
- Assist with tracking project budgets, preparing cost estimates, and ensuring project costs are controlled.
- Collaborate with the project team to resolve issues or delays that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Ensure that all necessary permits, inspections, and documentation are up-to-date and in compliance with local regulations.
- Support the transition of projects from the construction phase to the handover phase, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and projects are closed out successfully.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in the construction industry, ideally in a project management or related role.
- Ability to work on-site and travel up to 50% of the time to various project locations.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and project management tools.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Willingness to transition into a full Project Manager role within 1-2 years, with no travel requirements after that time.
