Refrigeration Technician – Local Mechanical Contractor

Key Responsibilities:
- Install and modify refrigeration systems, related equipment, and facilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment
- Support the preventive maintenance program using work orders from supervision and accurately document work performed
- Make safe adjustments to equipment as needed during production
- Perform start-up and shutdown procedures in production plants
- Properly use lockout/tag-out procedures to safely isolate equipment before working on it
- Troubleshoot electrical components using a meter when equipment is down
- Plan and schedule replacement of parts to minimize production disruption while maintaining safety
- Work with air compressors and associated control systems
- Communicate clearly with supervision and operations to ensure timely repairs and resolution of equipment issues
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience & Requirements:
- Refrigeration experience (ammonia refrigeration strongly preferred) and/or Residential or Commercial HVAC Service Technician experience
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced production environment
- Experience with air compressors and associated control systems
- Valid Journeyman License or Ticket
- Class B Gas Ticket (or ability to obtain, if applicable)
- High School Diploma or higher
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Strong skill set with commercial HVAC/refrigeration products, installation, and mechanical systems
- Solid understanding of HVAC/refrigeration functions, ductwork modifications, and system design
- Excellent communication skills with clients, coworkers, and project managers
- Strong leadership, work ethic, and reliability
- Strong analytical and logical skills with a high level of accuracy in detailed work
- Stable background and consistent work history
