Manufacturing Operations Manager – Roto Mold Plant

Employment Type: Full-Time - Direct hire

Overview
A well-established manufacturer in the marine and construction products sector is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead daily production activities in a rotational molding plant. This role will oversee plant floor operations, drive process improvements, and ensure production goals are met while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production activities to ensure on-time manufacturing and smooth plant operations.

  • Monitor and refine roto molding processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain high quality.

  • Identify and implement operational improvements, including lean manufacturing initiatives.

  • Supervise, train, and support production staff while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

  • Troubleshoot production challenges, including equipment or workflow issues, to minimize downtime.

  • Maintain compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.

  • Work with maintenance teams to ensure reliable equipment performance through preventive maintenance.

  • Track and report on production metrics, identifying cost savings opportunities.

  • Promote a team-oriented culture focused on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of manufacturing operations experience, preferably in rotational molding, plastics, or related industries.

  • 2+ years in a supervisory or management role within manufacturing.

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, with an emphasis on roto molding or similar methods.

  • Experience implementing process efficiencies and productivity enhancements.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, or other process optimization tools (preferred).

  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety practices.

  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Direct experience with rotational molding equipment and processes.

  • Background in marine or dock-related product manufacturing.

  • Experience with production planning tools or ERP systems.
