About the Role:
As a Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in preparing precise and detailed cost estimates for mechanical construction projects. Your expertise will be crucial in securing and executing successful projects. This role demands comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, construction processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and more.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to gather relevant data and pricing.
  • Develop detailed material and labor cost breakdowns and identify cost-effective solutions.
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing for optimal value.
  • Ensure all estimates are completed within established timelines and budgets.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
  • Assist in project planning and scheduling to ensure seamless execution.
  • Mentor and support junior estimators, fostering growth and development within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • 10+ years of mechanical estimating experience, with at least 5 years in a senior-level role.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, construction codes, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as ProEst, Accubid, Timberline, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proven track record of successful project estimations and cost control.
