Litigation Paralegal – Winston-Salem, NC

Our Winston-Salem office is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to provide essential legal support to a team of 5–6 attorneys in our busy litigation practice. The ideal candidate is professional, self-motivated, highly organized, resourceful, and eager to learn and grow within a collaborative team environment.

Minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive legal and administrative support to attorneys and occasionally to the firm administrator.
  • Draft, format, edit, and proofread legal documents; file documents with state, federal, and appellate courts; ensure timely and proper service in compliance with local rules.
  • Maintain organized electronic and/or physical case files, manage calendars, and track deadlines.
  • Professionally communicate with clients, internal teams, outside counsel, experts, witnesses, and court personnel while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Support attorneys in preparation for mediations, depositions, and trials, including creating exhibits and trial notebooks, coordinating subpoenas, and assisting with discovery.
  • Conduct legal research as directed.
  • Coordinate seminar registrations, CLE attendance, and travel arrangements for attorneys as needed.
  • Travel locally for court filings, document pickups/deliveries, and other business needs.
  • Perform other legal support tasks as assigned by attorneys or the firm administrator.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience, with preference for litigation-focused experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Associate degree plus relevant experience considered).
  • Familiarity with North Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure and litigation processes.
  • NC Notary Public preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel) and Adobe PDF.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and take ownership from start to finish.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with attorneys, staff, clients, and external parties.
